He became the first Indian sculpture artist to bag silver medal during XIth Florence Biennale. The accolade has been instrumental in the recognition of contemporary Indian art internationally.
Other awards include Sahitya Kala Parishad Award during the 28th Annual Art Exhibition in 2004 and the Best sculptor award in the 77th annual art exhibition of AIFACS.
